AおよびBのものは実用上ほとんど問題ないが、CおよびDのものには何らかの対策が必要か、あるいは制約条件に注意を要する。
成形性、ろう付け性、溶接性がDの場合は、一般にそれらの施工を行わないほうがよい。
※良好なものから順にA?Eの5ランクに分類。Aは切削処理が容易である。ランクが下位になるほど切削速度などの条件の制約が厳しくなる。
